Neelam Gill, President

Neelam graduated from The University of Akron School of Law, where she was an Akron Law Full-Tuition Scholarship recipient. Neelam served as a judicial extern for The Honorable Eve Belfance at the Ohio Ninth District Court of Appeals. Neelam also served as a Student Associate at the University of Akron School of Law New Business Legal Clinic, where she provided business advice concerning business planning, employment, contract/lease, tax, and entity formation to new and emerging businesses. Neelam was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in International Law and International Trade.

Her areas of interest include Food and Drug Law, Intellectual Property, International Law, and International Trade. Neelam graduated with a B.S. in Biology (magna cum laude) from John Carroll University. She is currently employed with Boehringer Ingelheim in Regulatory Compliance. She is a member of the Akron Bar Association and North American South Asian Bar Association.

Ruby K. Singh, Vice President

Ruby Singh is an attorney at Yormick & Associates. At Yormick, Ruby handles commercial collection cases nationally and defends the firm’s clients in employment litigation, including workers’ compensation matters.

Ruby received her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School where she was on the Dean’s List, won the Blue Book Award for Immigration Law, as was a Moot Court and Mock Trial competitor. A native of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ruby received her undergraduate degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Richik Sarkar, Treasurer

Richik focuses his practice on business litigation, complex and class action litigation and public law with expertise in business torts, contracts, corporate governance, securities and finance, real estate and real property taxation. He represents financial institutions, school districts and various public and private corporations. He also represents clients in administrative proceedings and alternative dispute resolution in the areas of commercial, product liability and public law. 

Richik is extremely active with the Banking Law, Uniform Commercial Code, and Consumer Financial Services committees of the ABA Business Law Section and is on the Executive Board for the Business Law Section's Young Lawyer Forum. For the past four years, he has been recognized as an “Ohio Super Lawyer Rising Star” by Law & Politics magazine (2005-2007, 2009, 2011).

Krishna Grandhi, Board Member

Krishna is an intellectual property attorney with patent experience in engineering, medical devices, software, internet technologies and computer technologies.

Krishna’s practice encompasses Patent Prosecution and Patent Drafting; Patent Analysis and Search (including Non-Infringement, Patent Invalidity, State of the Art, Patent Landscape, Freedom to Operate analysis); Drafting of License and Secrecy Agreements; Cross-Border Intellectual Property Transactions; and Intellectual Property Asset Management, including IP Acquisition, Patent Valuation, Commercialization and Licensing.

Krishna has more than 10 years experience in IT infrastructure management, enterprise resource planning, product strategy, technology management, risk management, enterprise data management and data architecture, most recently as director of technology for Cleveland State University.  He has taught as an adjunct lecturer of computer science at Cleveland State University.
 
Krishna holds undergraduate degrees in computer science and health sciences and a master’s degree in computer science from Cleveland State University.  He received his J.D. from Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and an M.B.A. from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Business. He served as the Executive Business Editor and Executive Technology Editor for the Cleveland State Law Review.
 
Krishna is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the South Asian Bar Association of Ohio.

Annal D. Vyas, Board Member

Annal is an attorney in private practice.  Previously, he worked at a large corporate law firm where he focused his practice on litigation, and was part of the Ohio team that represented Obama-Biden 2008 in matters relating to the United States Presidential election. 

Later, he worked as the Supervising Attorney and Assistant Academic Director of the Domestic Violence and Civil Protection Order Clinic at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he advocated on behalf of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  He has taught multiple CLE courses to other attorneys on the topic of Ohio Domestic Violence law. 

Annal completed his undergraduate work at The Ohio State University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa on a National Merit Finalist 100% scholarship.  He attended law school at The University of Cincinnati, where he earned a 90% scholarship and was a member of the University of Cincinnati Law Review.
